Slime Them All
Welcome to Slime Them All, a 1v1 physics-based fighting game where you play a squishy scaling slime. The objective? Ejecting your opponent in the void, a total of 3 times. The first one to get ejected 3 times loses. But there is a catch: when you get bumped into, you lose slime and size. The smaller you get, the easier it is to eject you. But small slimes also have their own assets...
This game was made by Ailedecolombe, creepermystery and darknew in 48h for the GMTK Game Jam 2024.
The rules
Each slime has a size. The bigger you are, the more difficult you are to eject. But smaller slimes also have their own assets...
Each slime has a percentage written at the top of the screen, describing their size. Moreover, a little aura will wrap smaller slimes, describing their level of tininess.
The smaller you are, the more things you will be able to climb on. With the first level of aura, you will be able to climb on trees. With the second level of aura, you will be able to climb on clouds.
Each time a slime bumps into another slime, both slimes are knocked back. The smaller you are, the more knocked back you will get. Moreover, one of the two slimes will lose some of its size. The basic rule is that the slower one will be the one getting hurt. Try dashing to get faster. Be careful however, as you only have one dash in the air, and it can be lifesaving.
Some slimes get advantages in some situations.
If you are larger, you will have better chances at hurting the other if you come from above. And the larger you are, the more the other slime will shrink.
On the other side, if you are smaller, you will have a better chance at hurting the other if you come from the side, to pierce him. The smaller you are, the more your piercing is potent.
There exists one last way to hurt your opponent, which is the head bump.
When you head bump, you are immune to knockback and damage in a large zone in front of you, with a lot of knockback too. However, the head bump comes with restrictions. You can only head bump while on the ground, and cannot move for the duration of the bump. Be careful of the opportunity opponents have to punish you.
Also, don't forget that sneaking will help you dodge a lot of attacks.
To regain health, you may try to pick up the small bits of slime falling from the sky
Launching the game
To launch the game, simply download the zip, unzip and execute the appropriate file (the .exe for Windows users and the .x86_64 for Linux users). Currently, we forgot to upload the resources to go with the executable, so the game probably won't work. We will fix this at the end of the GMTK Game Jam.
Once you launch the game, you will land on this main menu. Choose your slime color, and simply press the button FIGHT. May the best slime win!
